Isle of Wight Walking Festival

Throughout the Island:

With over 300 walks to choose from, the Walking Festival is the largest event of its kind in Europe and a great introduction to the Island from its history and heritage to its people and landscape. There are walks to suit all ages and abilities, be they seasoned ramblers or the more leisurely walker. Themed events include heritage walks, ghost walks, pub walks, pram walks, twilight walks and tea party walks. One of the most popular events, the speed dating walk, takes place on Sunday 4 May. This year's Festival will be launched by Ben Fogle.

Old Gaffers Festival

Yarmouth:

Sir Robin Knox-Johnston will open this year’s Old Gaffers Festival. This unique occasion
comprises three days of free entertainment, vintage vehicle displays, craft stalls, a flower
festival and a farmers’ market. Old Gaffers – boats so called because of their traditional gaff rigging – travel from all over the country to participate in the races on the Saturday
morning. An opportunity to see Island life at its very best – and it’s all for free! Ample parking in the town, plus a park and ride scheme at Thorley.
