Arreton Barns Craft Village
Arreton
Arreton Barns Craft Village is
situated at historic Arreton in
the heart of the Island. Watch
skilled craftsmen at work, using
ceramics, glass and wood. Also
see the collection of agricultural
machinery and artefacts. The
Dairyman’s Daughter free house
and tearooms offers
refreshments all day, and gift
shops on-site include the Corn
Exchange, Lavender & Lace
herb shop and a traditional
sweet and fudge shop. The 12th
century church of St George, a
brass-rubbing centre and a
medieval carp pond complete
the picture. New for 2008: The
Shipwreck and Maritime Experience, Wreck & Rescue
Lifeboat Museum and End of
the Pier Penny Arcades for
which an entry fee is payable.

THE OLD SMITHY
Godshill Situated in what once was the
local blacksmith’s forge, The
Old Smithy now features a
landscaped garden in the shape
of the Island with models and
aviaries. Also a large gift and
fashion shop, a pretty cottage
herb garden and ‘Style’, a shop
stocking imaginative
accessories for the home. The
restaurant with its conservatory
tea room is a favourite with
Islanders, offering a wide menu
with delicious cakes and homecooked
